Photographing Emily and Rob’s wedding at Richmond Hill Hotel was an absolute pleasure. The day was a perfect reflection of their style: elegant, understated, and effortlessly modern.
We’d worked together before on their engagement session, which made a real difference. Having that time ahead of the wedding allowed us to build trust and ease in front of the camera. By the time the wedding day arrived, they were relaxed, confident, and fully present — which always results in more natural, honest images.
The Venue: Richmond Hill Hotel
Richmond Hill Hotel is a favourite of mine for a reason. It blends period charm with contemporary interiors and sits just a short walk from one of the most iconic views in London. The light that day was incredible — warm, clear, and perfect for what we had planned.
The Couple Photos: Light, Texture & Atmosphere
We began with portraits inside the hotel, where the bar area offered a particularly striking backdrop. With its rich textures and deep tones, it brought a stylish, artistic feel to the images. Emily and Rob are drawn to an editorial look, so I worked with flash throughout the day to shape light cleanly and give their portraits that polished edge without losing the sense of intimacy.
Later, we stepped across the road for golden hour photos overlooking Richmond. It’s a familiar view, but it never gets old — especially with a couple this comfortable in front of the lens. The soft evening light added depth and atmosphere to the images without the need for over-direction or posing.
A Thoughtful, Well-Curated Day
What stood out most about Emily and Rob’s wedding was how considered everything felt — nothing overdone, just thoughtful choices that reflected who they are. The day moved naturally, without unnecessary formality, and that made the photography feel organic from start to finish.
