The Dog and Fox Wedding | Wimbledon Wedding photographer | Catherine and Daniel
There’s something truly special about autumn weddings — that golden light, the crisp air, and the warm, rich tones that make every frame glow. Catherine and Daniel’s autumn wedding at The Dog & Fox Hotel in Wimbledon was one of those days where everything came together perfectly — beautiful weather, heartfelt moments, and a couple who couldn’t stop smiling.
As a luxury wedding photographer in London, I’ve had the joy of photographing many incredible celebrations, but this one stood out for its warmth, laughter, and timeless charm.
Morning Preparations at The Dog & Fox
Both Catherine and Daniel got ready in the Dog and Fox’s elegant getting-ready rooms, which were flooded with soft, golden autumn light — a dream for any photographer. Catherine’s room was filled with excitement and laughter, while Daniel’s had a calm, anticipatory energy. The rich autumn tones — warm neutrals, burnt oranges, and deep greens — created a beautifully cohesive backdrop that translated perfectly on camera.
Having photographed here many times before, I knew exactly how to work with the light and colour palette to create flattering, natural images that would capture the emotion and atmosphere of the morning.
A Meaningful Ceremony
Catherine and Daniel travelled to the church in true London style — aboard a classic red double-decker bus along with their wedding party. It was such a fun, quintessentially British touch that guests absolutely loved.
The church itself held deep personal meaning for Catherine; it was where her parents had been married years earlier. Knowing that, I made sure to capture not just the big moments but also the quiet, emotional details — the tears at the top of the aisle and the way Daniel looked as he saw her for the first time.
Their dip at the end of the aisle was a total showstopper — full of energy, laughter, and pure joy. Guests cheered, and the moment made for one of my favourite photographs of the day.
Confetti, Direction, and Candid Perfection
Confetti moments are always some of the most joyful — but they can be tricky to get right. Using my experience, I helped guide everyone into the perfect position for that confetti line, making sure the light was flattering and that every guest had a handful ready. The result? A cascade of colour, laughter, and one of those truly timeless images that sum up the whole celebration.
Afterwards, I led Catherine and Daniel to a quiet nearby spot I’d scouted earlier — ideal for a few natural couple portraits. These in-between moments, away from the crowd, gave them time to breathe and connect while I captured their chemistry against the warm autumn tones and the flowing river.
Back to The Dog & Fox — Champagne and Celebration
Once everyone piled back onto the double-decker bus, the atmosphere was full of celebration. I joined the guests on board, camera ready for those spontaneous, joy-filled frames that happen when everyone relaxes.
Arriving back at The Dog & Fox, the couple went straight into reception drinks where fun and laughter quickly filled the room. The highlight was their champagne tower — pure fun, elegance, and just the right amount of chaos (which always makes for fantastic photos!).
Before dinner, I whisked Catherine and Daniel into the Dog & Fox’s stylish bar for a few quick couple portraits. The warm tones, rich wood textures, and soft light made it an intimate setting for a few more refined, editorial-style shots before they cut their cake and joined their guests for the wedding breakfast.
A Photographer You Can Depend On
Days like this remind me why I love what I do. As a luxury wedding photographer, my goal is to balance creativity with calm direction — making sure everything runs smoothly, all while capturing the real emotion and beauty of your day. Catherine and Daniel trusted me completely, and that trust allowed us to create a gallery that truly reflects their personalities and the atmosphere of their celebration.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Dog & Fox in Wimbledon, or anywhere across London, and you’re looking for a photographer who knows how to work with light, colour, and emotion to tell your story beautifully — I’d love to hear from you.
