Gemma and Andrew’s big day was full of love and personal touches. It was lovely getting the preparation images in the morning. I love this time of day, I get to meet a lot of the Bride’s family and bridal squad, get them used to me and comfortable in front of the camera so everyone is on side before the ceremony. The lighting was very yellow in the beautiful hotel room, Gemma and her squad were really happy for me to turn off some lights during their prep which helped a lot. I know it’s not the thing to even make your checklist of venues but if you can avoid rooms with downlight LEDs in the ceiling that would be a dream! Especially in the ceremony, where they can be extremely unflattering, or make sure the room has ample light with the lights off ie. Big windows.
Moving to the ceremony at Pembroke Lodge, which is stunning and is great for light! The ceremony room is bright and fresh and was perfect for Gemma’s walk down the aisle. I absolutely loved doing the confetti line indoors as they walked back down the aisle – fab idea if its raining outside. The ground was very wet and Gemma really wanted to keep her dress unmarked, but we managed to convince her to take photos outside (how can you not with Richmond park as a backdrop!) I always say, if your dress isn’t dirty by the end of the night, it hasn’t been a good wedding, ladies please go with the flow, live and enjoy, don’t worry on your wedding day – that’s why dry cleaners are fab at cleaning wedding dresses! Gemma soon flung all cares to the wind and even went on a lovely woodland walk to a beautiful walkway through the autumnal park – what a superstar!
It was actually pretty dark for the couple photos but, if you can see with your eyes then my camera can see you too! I’m not a pixel peeper, and not too fussed about grain in images, and I love the way they came out.
The speeches led into dancing and the cutting of two cakes, one sponge and one cheese! All in all it was a fabulous Autumn wedding in a stunning setting, I loved every moment!
