Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa wedding • Madi Lane Dress • Emily and Matt

Believe it or not I was four days away from giving birth when capturing this wedding! I had my good friend Katrina come along with me to second shoot and to take over if needed, but I'm glad to say that I made it through the whole day! And what a day! Emily and Matt were supposed to get married in the outdoor ceremony space but the rain threatened throughout the morning and light drizzle and dark rain clouds made them decide it was safer to head indoors to get married. And it took nothing away from the day, Lythe Hill is it beautifully light space, and once all the guests were in and Emily was walking down the aisle in that stunning dress no one cared that they were inside rather than out.

We had fun during their getting ready morning and this joy for life continued throughout the ceremony and into the rest of the day. We still managed to get outside as the rain stopped for us which is fantastic, we got loads of family shots and couple shots in the outdoor ceremony location and then went for a little walk in the nearby woods with Emily and Matt to get a few more couple photos with a bit of a different background before heading back for some hysterical speeches again in a beautifully light room. The drinks were definitely flowing during speeches and this made for an excellent dancefloor when the band were revealed and the tunes started getting people to their feet, in fact, people were dancing to the sound check! When I see something like that I know it's gonna be a good party there's nothing I like more than people dancing!

I can't wait to be shooting here again soon, it's such a stunning venue so many different backgrounds and photo opportunities, a fab place to consider if you’re getting married.

Old Bank Hotel Wedding • Oxford Wedding Photography • A story of love, music and fate • Anna and Andy

Anna and Andy’s wedding day was magical. Defying covid and all its dampening of spirits they still wanted to get married and celebrate their love. They couldn’t have had a better day for it! The sun was out with a force, it was beautifully warm and stayed bright the entire day.

They decided that they wanted to do a first look before the ceremony, and The Old Bank hotel has a perfect little library that was perfect for this. Such beautiful light and such a gorgeous moment! It’s an American trend that is slowly coming over this way, and personally I wish more couples would do this - I bloody love these small moments with the coupe!

The ceremony was short and sweet and allowed for everyone to be out celebrating in the sunshine in no time at all. It was handy having a lot of time in-between the ceremony end and the meal start as Andy managed to rip his trousers during the ceremony without knowing, so one of Anna’s first wife duties was to sew them back together!!! A moment I loved capturing!

We then had fun with the group shots and then went for a stroll around the stunning Oxford streets for the couple photos. Again, another bonus to Covid was that the normally heavily crowded streets had just a handful of people which made it easy to avoid them in the photos, making it look like they had the whole of Oxford to themselves!

Back at the hotel the speeches commenced, and wow - what speeches! Funny, touching, personal, comedic, everything you could ask for, they even including an Oscar style award ceremony!

Leaving them to enjoy their evening, I left with my cheeks aching from smiling and laughing. It was honestly such a joy to capture their day, I loved each moment.
