I love a central London wedding, it’s always so vibrant, colourful and varied. You can find the most beautiful locations, unique, bright and quiet in one of the Worlds’ busiest cities. Claire and Mikey had mentioned during their pre wedding consultation that they loved the cobbled streets of London and would love for them to be incorporated into their couple photos. So off I went scouting different streets and mews on route from their ceremony to their reception so as to not take up too much time, and boy, there are some beautiful streets around!

London was a fabulous backdrop and one they truly embraced. Getting married in the gorgeous Asia house, in front of beautiful windows, surrounded by books and the legal bits performed by a lifelong friend, their ceremony had all the feels. Mikey’s ring bearer and best woman was his daughter, his Scottish roots were acknowledged with a bagpiper welcoming the guests, this was a surprise to Claire, but her smile said it all as she arrived in a beautifully quirky vintage car that had all the bells and whistles – literally (it even had a chandelier!)

After the big group shots featuring bubbles instead of confetti, I went off to grab the couple shots on those cobbled streets, my second shooter for the day, Hannah Owens hopped on the Routemaster with the guests as they went for a drive to the reception venue. It was here that we then did a massive confetti bomb of a shot! It was fabulous!

Moving into the reception, it was the most chilled and relaxed celebration in a real atmospheric pub: dark walls, neon signs, hanging lights and glassed conservatory, the long tables encouraged everyone to mix and celebrate in style! The speeches were heart felt and I have to say that Mikey’s daughter gave one of the best ‘best man’ speeches ever! It was a true honour to capture their day; I know that the rest of their lives together will be filled with love, laughter and fun!
