It was forecast for on and off rain when I travelled up to central London for this engagement shoot, luckily, after an initial shower 5 minutes before we met, the rain stayed off. I love meeting up with couples for an engagement shoot, it allows us to get used to each other and the way I work, and getting them comfortable in front of the camera and me. I work in a very relaxed fashion and don’t pose my couple as such, I work around them, giving a little direction and then standing back and allowing the action to unfold before me. As a newly engaged couple they naturally held hands, kissed and laughed. I am so excited to capture their wedding later on this year.
Farsheen and Chris were absolutely fabulous to work with, so comfortable with each other and with me. The background they chose for their shoot of London and the Thames was fantastic, I loved capturing intimate moments with them amongst the city streets. We went through St Katharine’s Dock and up to Tower Bridge, we could get lovely couple shots in little hidden locations along the way and then paused on the Bridge itself amongst the crowds and captured moments of stillness whilst people walked by.
I am so excited to share their special day with them at The Globe Theatre; I’m hoping to get them back onto another Thames bridge for a few sunset shots with St Pauls Cathedral in the background. I am also looking forward to capturing a few more double exposure images, as like in the engagement shoot. It’s always great to try new things and keep learning and expanding, creating more out of an image to give it a twist. I hope Farsheen and Chris have a smooth build up to their wedding, and I’m more excited than ever to capture their day.
