It was a gorgeous sunny day for this couple’s wedding. I personally love the sunshine, however it adds an extra trickiness to the day when it is intermittent. The brilliant sunshine made an appearance in-between fast moving clumps of cloud which meant I was continually changing the settings on camera even more than normal. The weather allowed me to play with shadows though and create some different images. I could push the shadows up to create harsh contrasts or pull them back to create a matted/bright look.
I love playing with light; I make use of it whilst it’s out as when it gets into the dancing and evening entertainment I bring out my flash. Again, I can play with the flash but it creates a different feel from the natural light outside which I love.
I began the day at the venue, to capture the guests arriving and the grooms’ nervous looks before the ceremony. I have to say this groom took it all in his stride, he was so chilled in fact that he had to run into the ceremony room because he was still outside as the cars drove in! It was a gorgeous ceremony with lots of the family and friends having a part in proceedings. You could tell that the bride and groom loved to mess around and have fun but also, that they loved each other wholeheartedly.
The lovely warm weather allowed the guests to drink and celebrate outside, and we managed to get some gorgeous natural couple shots of the two newlyweds, along with throwing of the bouquet and some fun bridesmaid/groomsmen combinations.
The whole day was full of fun and energy, the bride and groom being the centre of the fun and then coming together to have a beautifully romantic first dance. I left just as the bride was going off the change into something more comfortable! It was a fantastic day, and I know that the rest of the night would’ve been great craic!
